Inspiring DIY Stair Renovation Project by Jaap
Looking to give your staircase a fresh new look? Follow Jaap’s lead, who has given his staircase a makeover with precision and a clear vision. This inspirational project shows you how to replace risers and solve annoying creaking, using custom-cut sheet materials by TOSIZE.de.
Step by step to a renewed staircase
The staircase, situated in a light and open environment, now exudes tranquility and modernity thanks to the thorough renovation. The old risers have been replaced by sleek, white panels of MDF Gegrond, each precisely made to measure. This change not only has a visual impact, but has also eliminated all unwanted noise, resulting in a silent transition between the floors in the house.
The structure explains
When entering the space, the eye is immediately drawn to the even connection of the risers and steps. The choice of 12 mm thick MDF Primed offers a seamless and easy-to-maintain finish, and the uniform white colour gives the staircase a timeless look. Jaap has opted for a modern and sleek design here, which provides a soothing look in the living space.
Flexibility and Freedom
Renovating a staircase yourself offers many advantages. First of all, you get the freedom to fully adapt the dimensions to your specific situation, something that Jaap has used to great effect. By working with TOSIZE.de he was able to have the risers cut to the millimeter, so that the end result looks as if it was installed by a professional. Furthermore, choosing your own materials not only brings pleasure to the DIY process, but can also save you a lot of money.
The style of the project
The look of the renovated staircase can be described as minimalist and contemporary. By using flat, white panels, the design fits in perfectly with modern interior trends. Every step you take gives you the feeling of a new, solid construction, which is characterized by its sleekness and clear lines.
Advantages of the used MDF Primed 12 mm
MDF is a very versatile material and an excellent choice for interior projects such as this staircase renovation. The advantages are obvious: it is easy to work with, it has a smooth surface that is perfect for painting, and the pre-priming layer significantly reduces the preparation time for painting. In addition, MDF Primed 12 mm is stable and durable, which contributes to a long-lasting and low-maintenance solution for any home improvement project.
