Ordering plywood made-to-measure online

Plywood is one of the most popular types of sheet material. This variant has been specially developed for flexible situations. And with us you can order flexible plywood easily online! This sheet material can easily be sawn to size and processed. Because it is a thin and flexible material, this board material should always be fixed.

Flexible plywood: what is it?

Plywood bendable crosswise is made of Ceiba hardwood and is bendable in the grain. The board is constructed from three cross-glued veneers. The grain of this panel runs across its width, so that the panels can be bent lengthwise. With flexible plywood you can make curves or s-shapes, but also cylindrical and curved constructions can be made with great ease. It is often used in furniture and interior design as a finishing material for curves.

This plywood panel has a natural, light-brown colour where the edges are clean and decorative. With birch plywood the wood structure is visible, which gives the wood a natural look. Bendable plywood is made up of several layers of veneer, during the sawing and processing of bendable plywood, wood splinters may occur.

Transverse bent plywood

The grain of this board runs across its width, which means that the boards can be bent lengthwise. Think of the finishing of a low, wide barrel. If you are looking for the finishing of a high, long pillar, go for multiplex buigbaar lang.

Available thicknesses of bent plywood

You can order plywood in different thicknesses. You can easily specify your desired thickness during the ordering process. In this way, you can be sure that the sheet material meets your requirements: both the format and the thickness of the material. The following thicknesses are available: 7 mm and 8 mm.

Processing of bendable plywood sheets

Plywood is an easy sheet material to work with, if you have sharp tools. For drilling holes, we recommend a wood drill with a centre point. Pre-drilling is also recommended for this panel material. This board material can discolour over time, so finish it with a (clear) varnish, stain or paint. Use an edge sealer to finish the edges of plywood, this will prevent the varnish or stain from penetrating the plywood, which may cause the veneer layers to peel off.

Specific applications bendable plywood

Bendable plywood is ideally suited for the finishing of low, wide forms. Think of making s-shapes, but also cylindrical and curved constructions can be made with great ease.
