Easily order cut-to-size Plywood Marine Garant plex primed sheets online. Plywood can be cut or milled to size into various shapes. Whether it's an oval for a tabletop, a house shape for the little one's playhouse or a rectangle with bevelled edge for a cupboard under a sloping roof. You come up with it, we saw it perfectly! Do you want to have your do-it-yourself project neatly finished? Then choose one of the available (edge) finishes.

Plywood Marine Garant plex primed: what is it?

Plywood marine primed is the variant that is resistant to moisture and is therefore used for outdoor or humid applications. This sheet saves a lot of work because it is already primed, so you can start painting your project almost immediately. The sheet is, as with plywood birch, bonded with a waterproof glue. Marine, however, is the type of wood that is more resistant to moisture, making it more suitable for outdoor applications. Plywood is made up of various veneer layers. These layers are glued crosswise on top of each other. This results in a stable sheet.

Primed top layer

Plywood Marine Garant plex primed, the name says it all, is finished with a primer layer. Board material with a primed top layer offers immediate time savings and an improved finish, as the material is already pre-treated. Moreover, it is cost-saving. It is a practical and efficient choice when you want to finish your project quickly. However, bear in mind that the edges are not finished and the primer layer still needs to be sanded.

In principle, board material with a primer coating can be painted immediately. It is suitable for all paints: acrylic (water-based) and alkyd (turpentine-based). Do you want to enjoy your paintwork for longer or will the surface be used intensively? Then first apply a primer layer before applying the final coat.

Garant plex

Plywood Marine Garant plex primed is the durable variant of Marine plywood. The board has been specially developed to preserve the quality of the bonding over the long term. In fact, it is developed to resist moisture and can last 15 years if properly finished.

Visibility quality BB/BB

The quality of plywood surface layers is indicated by letter combinations and refers to the visual assessment of plywood wood. There is a letter designation for the visible side (top) and one for the reverse side (bottom). It refers to the quality of the deck veneer, the quality of the gluing, for example, is indicated differently. Read here more about all view qualities.

This board material has the visible side BB/BB. This means that both top layers have the same visible side. A plywood panel rated BB/BB has generally a better visual quality than panels with lower ratings. The wood usually has a smooth and even surface with minimal imperfections. Colour variations, knots, repairs and other irregularities are rare and kept to a minimum.

Because of its high visual quality, plywood with BB/BB sight grade is often used in applications where aesthetics play an important role. It is used for furniture, cabinets, interior finishing, decorative projects and other applications where the wood surface is visible.

It is important to note that visibility quality may vary depending on local standards and specifications. It is advisable to consult the specific ratings and standards of the manufacturer or supplier when buying plywood to ensure that the wood meets the requirements for the intended application.

In general, plywood with BB/BB visible grade provides a high-quality and aesthetically pleasing surface for visible applications. It combines good visual quality with the inherent strength and durability of plywood.

Available thicknesses of Plywood Marine Garant plex primed

Plywood can be ordered in different thicknesses. You can easily specify your desired thickness during the ordering process. This way you can be sure that the sheet material meets your requirements: both the size and thickness of the material. The following thicknesses are available: 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm and 18 mm.

Machining Plywood Marine Garant plex primed sheets

Plywood marine is a hard sheet material type. It is easy to work with when you have sharp tools. For drilling holes, we recommend a wood drill with centring tip. Pre-drilling is also recommended with this sheet material. Plywood can be finished with lacquer, stain or paint. Use an edge sealer to finish the edges of plywood to prevent the lacquer or stain from being absorbed into the sheet material, which can lead to the veneer layers loosening.

Specific applications of Plywood Marine Garant plex primed

Marine primed is very suitable for projects such as finishing work, moulds, wall cladding, but also for decorative applications such as tabletops and cabinets.
