Description

Desk with 3 drawers based on old wine boxes. The local wine seller (Reinkenstraat The Hague) sells the perfect drawers for 2 euros and I tinkered around them for the rest of the project. An old belt has been killed to make three handles.

DIY: custom desk

First make a working drawing, oversized and thick top with rounded corners (can be delivered as is), measured thick bearing walls and intermediate shelves. I ordered the wood as always at TOSIZE.co.uk, perfect delivery. I have used 'dark oak' lacquer from the Gamma and will coat the job transparently 3 more times for a nice smooth top. Long screws hold the whole together firmly, I filled the screw holes with malleable wood. Under the worktop are 4 angle irons and Bison mounting kit to hold it. The blade is securely attached. Under the sides are caps to prevent damage to the future wooden floor of this attic room.
