Built-in sofa in the bay window in the living room, a real 'window sill'.

  • Backrest similar to windowsill.
  • Power supply tablet/phone on the right.
  • Radiator grille above radiator, between the back of the sofa and the windowsill.
  • Wooden frame with fabric cover underneath.

Work description: how did you realize your project

Take measurements of the living room. 5 mm clearance included in the width, in order to be able to correct for non-squareness of the walls. Wood ordered at TOSIZE.co.uk. Ordered some parts larger than necessary and later sawn different parts of the backrest/electricity supply myself at home.

  • Angled edges on the visible side of the sofa (armrest, backrest, front of seat section) chamfered at the top/front.
  • Cut a hole for electricity supply with 10.0 cm hole saw.
  • Assemble the bench with screws 5.0 x 80, pre-drilled with 4 mm (front part wood) or 3 mm (rear part wood) to prevent splitting/cracks.
  • Try on to see if everything fits. Everything fit.
  • Bank apart. Degrease, prime 2 x, topcoat 3 x.
  • Heating grid made of slats 27 x 18, frame made.
  • Fabric stretched and stapled at the bottom.

Final size: What are the outer dimensions?

Wide section: 270.0 cm wide 60.0 cm deep (56.0 cm + 4.0 cm backrest) 'Corner' section: 58.0 cm wide 60.0 cm deep (56.0 cm + 4.0 cm backrest) Seat height: 42.5 cm (hairpin legs 30.5, sofa 4.0 cm wood, seat cushion 8.0 cm) Back height: 19.4 cm
