Description
We saw a beautiful cabinet in a furniture shop, but unfortunately it wasn't available in the right size or colour. So we decided to make the cabinet ourselves – completely customised and in our own style.
How did you make your wardrobe?
First, I downloaded some drawing instructions and used them to create my own design. Then I ordered the wood cut to size from TOSIZE.de.
To be well prepared, I also watched some instructional videos beforehand. When the wood was delivered neatly and on time, the project could really begin!
Assembly of the compartment cabinet
The cabinet is made of Plywood Interior Poplar B/B. Below are the steps I followed for the construction:
- All end grains of Plywood Interior Poplar B/B have been sanded and varnished three times, as they remain visible.
- All mounting locations marked and taped off to enable precise work.
- All boards primed.
- A template made for drilling the holes for the dowels.
- Glue the boards together and allow them to dry thoroughly.
- Then sanded and varnished everything.
- Finally, the doors were fitted.
The result is a sleek, contemporary storage unit that fits perfectly in our kitchen — and is extra special because it is entirely homemade.
What are the dimensions?
The dimensions are 130.0 cm long, 25.0 cm deep and 105.2 cm high.
